Microsoft suspends product sales in Russia!

Microsoft continues its stance against Russia.

Xbox Series S/X sales suspended in Russia.

The effects of Russia's invasion of Ukraine are being felt more and more in the game market, as in all world markets. In addition to companies such as ESL, BLAST, FIFA, which ban Russian teams from online tournaments, the reaction of technology giants to Russia is increasing. Finally, Sony, the world's largest console manufacturer, announced that Gran Turismo 7 will not be available for sale in Russia. CD Projekt Red announced that Cyberpunk 2077 sales will not continue.

Microsoft, one of the world's leading technology companies, has decided to suspend product sales in Russia. Explaining that it cooperates with the US, European governments and the European Union, Microsoft announced that it supports the sanctions imposed on Russia. Microsoft, which pulled all the products it offered for sale in Russia, including Xbox Series X / S, from the market, became another giant company, together with Sony, that reacted to the invasion of Ukraine.

The statement made by Brad Smith on the subject is as follows:

"Today we are announcing that we will suspend all new sales of Microsoft products and services in Russia. In addition, we are working step by step in close coordination with the governments of the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom, and we are suspending many aspects of our business in Russia in accordance with government sanctions decisions.

Concrete action in coordination with government decisions. We believe we have been effective in helping Ukraine when we do so, and we will take additional steps as the occupation continues. We continue to work proactively to assist the cybersecurity authorities in Ukraine in defending against Russian attacks, including a recent cyberattack on a major Ukrainian broadcaster."
