Epic Games will donate revenues from Fortnite to Ukraine

Epic Games announced that between March 20 and April 3, all revenues from Fortnite will be donated to Ukrainian charities.

The people of Ukraine, who were affected by the Russian occupation, continue to receive help from the game world. In the past weeks, giant companies such as Electronic Arts and Sony have also decided to impose sanctions on Russia, after Riot Games announced that it will donate the battle pass revenues from its games such as TFT, Valorant, Wild Rift to the people of Ukraine affected by the war. The suspension of FIFA and Grand Turismo sales in Russia, and Microsoft's withdrawal of all its services from Russia were in response to the ongoing occupation.

With the announcement of episode 3, season 2 for Fortnite, players flocked to the popular battle royale game and lined up to experience the new characters, weapons, and vehicles that were brought. Epic Games, on the other hand, announced the aid campaign it launched for Ukraine in one of the most profitable periods of the year.

The funds raised will be donated to Direct Relief, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations World Food Program (UNWFP) and the UN Refugee Organization (UNHCR).

The statement made by Epic Games is as follows:

"Epic is dedicating all Fortnite revenue from March 20, 2022 to April 3, 2022, to humanitarian aid for those affected by the war in Ukraine. Xbox company is joining us in this campaign and we are committing to Fortnite net revenues during this time so that we can provide further assistance to the people of Ukraine.

Time waiting for them as actual funds from our platform and payment partners may take time to reach us depending on the processing of the transaction. We will not lose. As payment transactions are reported, we will record them and send the funds to humanitarian organizations within a few days."
