The Witcher series has sold 65 million copies in total.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has sold over 40 million copies.

CD Projekt RED has announced the sales figures of the popular role-playing game series The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, the most talked about game of recent years. The popular series, including The Witcher, the first game of the series published through Atari in 2007, has sold 65 million copies worldwide. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which came to the agenda with the news that the next generation update was postponed indefinitely in recent weeks, reached 40 million sales. The sequel to The Witcher 3, which is considered one of the best of its kind, was officially approved by CD Projekt RED in the past weeks.

CD Projekt RED senior official Michal Nowakowski explained:

“I was looking at the headlines in various places on the internet and I saw one that really caught my attention, 'The Witcher 3 next generation has been delayed indefinitely', it sounds like a game in development phase. I want to point out that this is not true. There have been many hints that we'll be launching something like this in June next year. This is not entirely so. Everything we said – we brought the development of the game from within the company to the homes. The development phase will end with remote work. We're taking our time, it takes some research – that's all we said."

CD Projekt RED also sold a total of 18 million copies of Cyberpunk 2077, which was released in 2020. Cyberpunk 2077, which received intense criticism due to its bugs, crashes and errors, was able to reach its goal one and a half years after its release. Reaching 13 million copies in December 2020, Cyberpunk 2077's sales in 2021 and beyond have dropped considerably.
