Xbox Series sales outpace PS5 sales.

 According to the estimated console sales report from March 27 to April 02, Xbox Series sales surpassed PS5 sales on a weekly basis.



Estimated worldwide sales of game consoles have been announced. Xbox Series sales, on the other hand, showed an increase in the past years. Although there is no official statement, according to VGChartz, who has done a hard research on this issue, the estimated sales made a statement.

XBox Series sales skyrocket

According to the estimated data obtained, Nintendo Switch saw a total of 346,026 sales in the first week of April and topped the top as the best-selling console. Meanwhile, an estimated 106.49 million units have been sold since the Switch debuted (March 3, 2017).

In the same week, Xbox Series sales sold 232,758 units, reaching 13.89 million sales in total (November 20, 2020 release date). By selling 191,950 units on PlayStation 5, it increased its total sales amount to 18.80 million since its debut (November 29, 2020). PS4 sold 65,000 more units than PS5 in the same week, while Xbox One sold 149,000 units less than Xbox Series X|S in the same week.

On April 2, 2022, PS4 sales amounted to 15,015 and Xbox One sold 1,190 units.

So, what was the situation of sales compared to April 2021? Nintendo Switch experienced a decrease of 171,528 (around 33.1%) compared to the previous year. The situation is not much different for the Playstation 5, which saw a drop of around 52,319 (21.4%). But the same table isn't available for Xbox Series sales because it oversold by 117,024 units. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, on the other hand, experienced a very high decline and officially called their sales in the past years. PS4 sold 45,064 units last year and Xbox One 18,282 units.

If we look at console sales on a weekly basis, Nintendo Switch decreased by approximately 2,000 units, Xbox Series X|S decreased by 12,000 units, and finally PlayStation 5 decreased by 5,000 units.
