Ukraine-Russia events, which came to the fore with the Russian attack on Ukraine at the end of last month, came to the fore in the gaming and esports industry as well as in every sector. As technology companies withdrew from Russia, esports organizations stopped their activities in the region. Game producers and publishers suspended their sales and activities in the region. While the number of companies making these decisions is increasing day by day, EA, Electronic Arts, which is a very influential name in the esports industry, joined these companies. Electronic Arts, which has important names in the field of esports such as FIFA and Apex Legends, has also joined the companies that impose sanctions on the region.


Electronic Arts, which shared on the official social media channels of the company, also included in their messages that they are with the people of Ukraine. In the continuation of the message, they announced that they have banned Apex Legends and FIFA 22 esports events for Russian and Belarusian teams and players. Here is the whole message:

"We continue to watch with amazement the events taking place in Ukraine and join the community in calling for peace and an end to occupation from all over the world. We support the solidarity of the Ukrainian people. We have made the decision to remove Russia and Belarus from the list of countries where our esports program is accessible. With immediate effect, teams and players from Russia and Belarus will not be eligible to compete in the Apex Legends Global Series and EA SPORTS FIFA 22 Global Series."

Electronic Arts joined the companies located next to Ukraine and ensured that the sanctions in this sector in the region advanced at a serious level.
